Is Arabic difficult to learn?

YES - and no. Learning Arabic certainly takes time and practice, but there are not many irregularities in the grammar. It's much less complicated than Latin, and probably simpler than German, too. Arabic is like any other language, easy in some aspects and hard in some others, depending on the learner's background, and ability to adapt to new rules. Arabic exists in two forms:

The modern Standard Arabic used in schools, universities, etc.. and on formal occasions such as speeches, debates, etc... (it's what you'll learn here)

The colloquial dialects which differ from one country to another. The colloquial dialect refers to the informal use of the language.

The tide taa can be confusing; it’s called taa but there’s
the latter taa ت? That’s why we call the normal latter
taaت (mabsootah مبسوطة smiling/ maftooHah مفتوحة
open ),and we call this ة taa (marbooTah مربوطة Tied/
round). The tide taa also looks and works like the latter haa ه.But in the post (above) we explained how to know the difference.

• Hello : ألو Allo.
• Hi : مرحبا MarHaba.
• Welcome : أهلاً Ahlan / أهلاًوسهلاً Ahlan wa Sahlan.

You sure remember the colours that we learned before, the basic colours. In this post, we’ll learn about colours that comes from elements or materials or food even.

We talked before about the housing types what to call them, and how to ask about them. And now we’ll go back and learn more about the rooms and what to call them.

• Bathroom:  حمّام ‘hammam.
• Bedroom: غرفة نوم ghurfat nawm.
• Closet: خزانة khezanah.
• Dining room: غرفة طعام ghurfat ta’aam.
• Kitchen: مطبخ matbakh.
• Living room: غرفة معيشة ghurfat ma’ishah.
• Lift/ elevator: مصعد mes’aad.
• Lobby: مدخل madkhal.

A lot of people -native speakers included- have a trouble telling ض and ظ apart, and when writing a word the trouble is double! so, what to do? when in doubt, ض.  Why? because ظ comes in 32 word only, and the words are(note: I’ll write the ظ with z but remember the pronunciation here -if you know how abu dhabi sounds like-):

1. حظ | Haz: Luck.
2. حفظ | Hefz: Save / keep / memorize.
3. حظر |hazr: Forbid.
4. حظوة | hazwah: Prestige.
   
5. ظلم |zulm: Injustice.
   
6. ظليم |zaleem: The male ostriches.
   
7. ظبي | zabi : Elk / deer.
8. ظبة | zabah:  The tip of the sword.
   
9. ظعن | za’an: Traveling with women.
10. ظرف | zarf: Envelope / circumstance.
11. ظرافة | zarafh: Amiability / humor / wittiness.
12. ظنّ |zann: Supposition / misgiving.
13. ظل |zel : Shadow, and ظلّ | zall:remain/still.
14. ظفر |zafar: Win.
    
15. ظهر |zuhur: Noon.
16. ظماء | zamaa: Thirst.
    
17. كظم | kazm: Repress.
    
18. لحظ | lahz: Gaze / look.
19. لفظ | lafz : Pronounce / say / eject.
